Carbon Emissions Reduction
The U.S. EPA has deemed landfills the 3rd largest Methane emitters in America and the EPA considers Methane 23 times more dangerous than CO2.
Landfills are porous structures until the individual cells are caped (which only happens every 2 – 3 years) and it is estimated that 85% of the Methane escapes before the cells are capped.
Look at the Methane bubbling out of a landfill in Vietnam 8-hours after MSW had been deposited – This doesn’t show the 35’ wide river of leachate flowing out of it into the Delta:
GHG Emission Reductions with EcoHub
- EcoHub’s Closed Loop Eco-Manufacturing Process will REDUCE carbon emissions by 4 Metric Tons for EVERY 1 Ton of MSW processed
- This is primarily accomplished by EcoHub’s “Circular Economy” process – Life Cycle Analysis and associated energy savings
- There are approximately 460 Million tons per year of MSW generated in the U.S. - If ALL of it was processed through EcoHub, the U.S. would REDUCE its CO2 equivalent emissions by 1,880 Million Metric Tons per year or 28%
- According to the U.S. EPA, total GHG emissions in 2018 = 6,677 Million Metric Tons of CO2 equivalent
